Spc. Nicholas Jones, a 24-year-old rifleman from Chicago, and Spc. Aaron Abney, a 29-year-old rifleman from Richmond, Ky., both from 1st Squadron, 33rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division hastily drag a simulated casualty out of a hostile area to provide treatment Oct. 11 at Fort Campbell, Ky. while conducting combat life-saver training. This type of training teaches non-medical personnel to apply treatment to their battle buddies in combat situations when medics are not present, which greatly improves chances of survival.
