Clint Pugh, Ophthalmic technician, Laser Refractive Surgery Center, Madigan Healthcare System explains the procedure for the corneal scan to 1st Lt. Christopher Griggs, executive officer, 14th Engineer Battalion, 555th Engineer Brigade, as part of the process to determine if he is a candidate to have the Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK) or Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis (LASIK) procedure done on his eyes.The procedures are provided free of charge to active duty service members who meet specific criteria, as part of the Warfighter Refractive Eye Surgery Program developed by the Department of Defense. The program provides the procedures to boost mission readiness.
