Corporal Jarred Linvile, an infantryman serving with 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, holds Brielle Linvile, his 3 month-old daughter, for the first time during his homecoming here, Sept. 29, 2012. Linvile, a 22 year-old native of Youngstown, Ohio, was deployed to Helmand province, Afghanistan for three months where he lead his squad on patrols near Kajaki. 1st Bn., 1st Marines performed counterinsurgency operations, and transitioned into a more supportive role letting the Afghan National Army lead operations.
