Koreans 'ROK' Bagram for Armed Forces Day

A Republic of Korea special operations forces soldier breaks through wooden boards during a demonstration of Korean taekwondo, the traditional martial arts of South Korea during the ROK Armed Forces Day celebration held on Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, Sept. 28, 2012. The celebration kicked off the day before with a 5-kilometer run to mark 2,000 safe flight hours for the ROK aviation contingent. ROK service members offered participants traditional Korean foods served during the Korean autumn festival known as "Chuseok‚" Events such as these offer contingents from all branches of the service and various foreign services to build cohesion through cultural exchange within military service.
