Race for a Soldier founder Leslie Mayne (right) recognizes soldiers of the 602nd Brigade Support Company as the organization bringing the most participants. The Race for a Soldier is a run and fundraiser for the Permission to Start Dreaming foundation. Over 1,400 participants had pre-registered for the Sept. 27 events, which include a half marathon and a two-mile run. The annual Race for a Soldier, now in its second year, benefits organizations that offer treatment for veterans suffering post traumatic stress disorder.
