    Lance Cpl. Cody C. Kurfman, middle right, interprets for Lt. Col. Jason P. Brown, right, to Japanese government officials during a media day tour at the East Fuji Maneuver Area Sept. 14. According to Kurfman, his knowledge and experience with Japanese language and culture was a leading factor in his desire to be stationed on Okinawa. Kurfman is a special communications signals collection operator with III Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, III MEF, supporting 3rd Bn., 12th Marines at the Artillery Relocation Training Program 12-2. Brown is the commanding officer of 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III MEF.
