Montford Point Marine receives Congressional Gold Medal

Lucious Bryant, an 87-year-old native of Carlsbad, Calif., and Maj. Gen. Ronald Bailey, the commanding general of 1st Marine Division, look at a pay stub from 1942 and talk about how big a difference it is now, here, Sept. 14, 2012. Bryant was one of the 20,000 African American Marines to graduate recruit training at Montford Point during a time period when race mattered in the Marine Corps.
