Retired Sgt. Maj. Jesse Acosta and his seeing eye dog, Charlie, address veterans, cargivers and local community at a banquet and silent auction held to honor 74 wounded veterans and caregivers on Sept. 15. The auction raised money for the Independence Fund. The Independence Fund hosted the Lt. Dan Weekend for the third time in Beaufort, S.C., from Sept. 10 through the 16th.
