Lance Cpl. Jarod A. Carroll, Orlando, Fla. native, chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense specialist, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), fires his M9 Beretta pistol at a paper target during combat pistol marksmanship training at Fort Pickett, Va., Sept. 13, 2012. The training demonstrated the importance of being proficient with a pistol in a combat situation. This training is part of the 26th MEU's pre-deployment training program. The 26th MEU is slated to deploy in 2013.
