Kenneth Myers, Natural Resource Specialist at the Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Grapevine Lake adjusts life jackets at the Murrell Park life jacket loaner station after putting up banners promoting water safety. One hundred banners were donated to the Fort Worth District by the Our Lands & Waters Foundation and will be displayed throughout Dallas-Fort Worth area Corps lakes and at Sam Rayburn Lake as well. In 2011 there were 40 deaths at Fort Worth District Lakes, although one life lost is one too many, due to efforts from the district and its partners deaths have been reduced by 43 percent this year.
