Members of USS Theodore Roosevelt's (CVN 71) diversity team serve ice cream and cookies on the mess decks to celebrate Women's Equality Day, Aug. 24 to raise awareness for the long struggle for women to gain the right to vote. NAVADMIN 251/12 announced the observance of Women's Equality Day to be Aug. 26. This day commemorates the 1920 passage of the 19th amendment to the Constitution granting women the right to vote.
