On June 1, Staff Sgt. Jennifer J. Martin checked into 2nd Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, an air assault unit formerly comprised of all male Marines. "I am honored to be here," said Martin. "I never thought that I would be here. Throughout my career as a Marine, I have taken things one enlistment at a time. To be here and still have the respect of my peers after 13 years is truly an honor."
