U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Thomas Sager, an animal care non-commissioned officer with the canine Role 3 at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, wraps a new cast on the leg of a contracting working dog’s on July 27, 2012. The dog recently had surgery to repair damaged tendons in his lower leg and the veterinarian staff replaced the dog’s cast. The veterinarian clinic at Kandahar Airfield handles everything from routine veterinary care to critical care, taking care of military working dogs for the United States military, NATO, contractors and Afghan National Army.
