Staff Sgt. Christopher Pierce, an aircraft mechanic with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 261 (Reinforced), 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, describes the characteristics of an MV-22 Osprey to members of the Udairi Fire Rescue Department at Udairi Airfield in Kuwait, July 21, 2012. The event's purpose was to familiarize the rescue team with the aircraft, which is relatively new to Udairi Airfield. The 24th MEU is deployed with the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group as a U.S. Central Command theater reserve force providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
