Two soldiers from the Chillicothe based 1194th Engineer Company attempt to raise a one-ton cement block use only breaker bars and wood July 7, at Camp Sherman in Chillicothe, Ohio. The soldiers are being taught the concepts of mechanical advantage as part of a week of training to become members of the Search and Extraction team of the Ohio National Guard’s Homeland Response Force. The Homeland Response Force is one of 10 organizations nationally that can respond to a chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear disaster.
