Helicopter rescue crews bring reality to training

Wyoming Army National Guard flight medic Staff Sgt. Matthew Harmon, left, a firefighter for the City Grand Junction, Colo., Fire Department, and crew chief Sgt. Kort Riker, of Dubois, Wyo., also employed by West Star Aviation, of Grand Junction, are transported to a location to treat and rescue a patient with simulated injuries from a UH60 Black Hawk at Wyoming’s Camp Guernsey Joint Training Center’s North Training Area, during a training mission for C Company, 5th Battalion, 159th Aviation Regiment, which rescued two patients with simulated injuries, June 21, 2012. The training mission was the first during a 72-hour training operation for the Company to prepare for future missions, both in combat and in support of their state missions. C Company, also known as Charlie Med, is the Wyoming Army National Guard’s most deployed unit, since Operation Desert Storm.
