Petty Officer 1st class Jerry Parsons, Her Majesty's Canadian Ship (HMCS) Ottawa (FFH 341) crew member, supervises the approach at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, in Honolulu, on June 29, 2012. Twenty-two nations, more than 40 ships and submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel will participate. Units from Australia, Canada, Chile, France, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Russia, Singapore, and the U.S. will participate. Military personnel from Colombia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Republic of Philippines, Thailand, Tonga and the United Kingdom will also participate. RIMPAC is a unique training opportunity that helps participants foster and sustain the cooperative relationships that are critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans.
