Capt. George "Joe" Paitl presents the Coast Guard Commendation Medal to Lt. Cmdr. Robert C. Compher at the Lake Charles Civic Center Thursday, June 28, 2012. Compher received the medal before passing command of Marine Safety Unit Lake Charles to Cmdr. Will E. Watson. Compher will be attending the Naval War College in Rhode Island after leaving Lake Charles.
