Smoke from practice bombs dropped by A-10 Thunderbolt IIs lingers over targets on Razorback Range located at Fort Chaffee maneuver training, June 6, 2012. The 188th Fighter Wing, Fort Smith Air National Guard, hosted a weeklong Special Operations Exercise (SOFEX) with the 75th Ranger Regiment supported by an AC-130U Spooky gunship from Hurlburt Field, Fla. Nearing its second deployment to Afghanistan with the A-10, the 188th regularly conducts training with JTACs from different branches of service to sharpen its close air support mission.
