Gunnery Sgt. Eric C. Francis, 35, hauled brush with other Marines from 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, while renovating the Central Recreation Center June 14 during Marine Week Cleveland’s community outreach efforts. Francis, an Amherst, Ohio, native who visits Cleveland regularly, said he welcomed the chance to give back to the city’s children. Francis joined volunteers from the Cleveland Indians’ franchise, Defense Finance and Accounting Services and his fellow Marines to renovate the Central Recreation Center. The volunteers cleared brush, laid new mulch, and cleared out the recreation center’s boiler room. Marine Week Cleveland ends June 17.
