U.S. soldiers of 3rd Platoon, C Company, 1st Battalion, 1-17 Infantry, Task Force Viper, provide security at an overwatch position during Operation Southern Strike II, June 6, 2012. The purpose of this mission is to disrupt the cross border insurgent network and capture and destroy insurgent weapon and improvised explosive device caches stored in the Ganjitsu and Pasha networks.
