Change of command ceremony

Lt. Gen. James L. Terry assumes command of the International Security Assistance Force Joint Command from Curtis M. Scaparrotti, during a change of command ceremony held here, June 11. Addressing coalition soldiers, Terry said "I believe in our mission and I believe that each of you, and the Afghan National Security Forces that you support, are making Afghanistan a much safer place for the Afghan people."

Scaparrotti, commander of the U.S. Army's I Corps, meets with Afghan and coalition force leaders from throughout Afghanistan, March 16, in Kabul for the Combined Team Commanders Conference. Scaparrotti will replace Lt. Gen. David Rodriguez as the ISAF Joint Command commander later this year. Leadership from the different Regional Commands and Afghan National Security Forces were in attendance to discuss past and present gains in security, development and governance, as well as how to continue their partnered efforts.
