A sniper assigned to 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division’s 2nd Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment “White Falcons,” demonstrates the proper wear of a ghillie suit to distinguished visitors prior to a Joint Operational Access Demonstration, June 4. Just before nightfall, heavy equipment and vehicles parachuted onto Sicily Drop Zone, closely followed by hundreds of paratroopers assigned to 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division. Once on the ground, the troopers quickly assembled and secured the airfield in order to allow additional troops and equipment to safely land on the field landing strip for future missions. Distinguished visitors from Washington D.C., and the Fayetteville, N.C., area were in attendance for the exercise to observe the paratroopers’ high level of expertise and to gain an understanding of their ability to quickly deploy anywhere in the world for any mission on short notice.
