Petty Officer 1st Class Otto Giron, the medical advisor with the Combat Logistics Battalion 5 Embedded Partnering Team, observes a medical course with the 1st Brigade, Afghan National Army at Camp Garmser, Afghanistan, May 30. As part of the EPT, Giron provides guidance to the medical instructors throughout the 8-week long combat life saving course. The soldiers practiced inserting a nasal pharyngeal airway for practical application of the procedure.
