Lance Cpl. Scott Kierstead III, a rifleman serving with Baker Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, uses a handheld interagency identity detection equipment system to scan the fingerprints of a man here, May 18, 2012. Kierstead, a native of Brighton, Colo., entered dozens of individuals' biometric information into the system during the three days of Operation Sangin United Horizons.
