Coalition partners from Combined Joint Task Force Spartan took part in a capabilities demonstration for His Majesty King Abdullah II bin A-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on May 16 at the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center. Seven of the 19 nations participating in Eager Lion 12 demonstrated their skills, which ranged from four-man stacks to fast roping from a hovering helicopter. Eager Lion 12 is an irregular warfare-themed exercise that includes more than 11,000 participants, focused on missions coalition partners might perform in support of contingency operations. The intent is to strengthen military-to-military relationships and interoperability through a joint, whole-of-government, multinational approach to meet current and future complex national security challenges.
