Navy Lt. Rebecca Murphy runs in with another participant (not pictured) after winning the women’s division of the Marine Corps Historic Half marathon at Forward Operating Base Delaram II, Afghanistan, May 20, 2012. This race took place on the same day as the Historic Half in Fredericksburg, Va. The 33 Marines, sailors and civilians who took part in the Afghanistan race all finished and received official Historic Half t-shirts and finisher’s medals at the end of the 13.1 mile run. The men’s winner was Capt. Patrick Sullivan who finished in 1:37:21. Murphy’s time was 1:48:51.
