Quartermaster Seaman Apprentice Takarah Cherrington from Miami looks through an alidade on the signal bridge aboard the Japan-based, Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73). George Washington's quartermasters observe and communicate with each other from numerous stations aboard the ship looking for navigation bearings as the ship pulls into her homeport of Yokosuka, Japan.
