Disembarking an amphibious assault vehicle

U.S. Marines with the Security Cooperation Task Force Africa Partnership Station 2012 ground combat element disembark an amphibious assault vehicle to establish a security perimeter during a mock noncombatant evacuation operation May 9, 2012, on Onslow Beach, Camp Lejeune, N.C. The training was designed to familiarize the Marines with specialized tactics for their upcoming deployment to Africa. APS is an international security cooperation initiative facilitated by Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa aimed at strengthening global maritime partnerships through training and collaborative activities in order to improve maritime safety and security in Africa.
