Sonar Technician 1st Class Keith Boise shows Electronics Technician 3rd Class Jason Manning, both of Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit (MDSU) 2, some of the manual controls of a Remote Environmental Measuring Units (REMUS) 100, an unmanned underwater sonar vehicle, that has been placed in the water during Exercise Frontier Sentinel 2012. Frontier Sentinel is a combined interagency exercise involving Joint Task Force Atlantic, the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Navy Fleet Forces. The exercise is designed to continue to develop and validate the existing plans, treaties and standard operating procedures for a bilateral response to maritime homeland defense and security threats.
