McCall, a combat rescue officer both with the 31st Rescue Squadron, demonstrates rescue techniques with the Philippine Air Force’s 505th Rescue Squadron during Exercise Balikatan 2012 here April 17. Both units discussed tactics including ways to evaluate the situation, identifying a collapsed structure, creating passageways, moving heavy objects, and implementing improvised rescue harnesses and proper building marking procedures to minimize their exposure to dangers.
