A CH-47 Chinook helicopter from Company B, 1st Battalion, 214th Aviation Regiment prepares to emplace a Rapidly Emplaced Bridge (REB), belonging to the Mobility Support Platoon, 38th Engineer Company, over an anti-tank ditch during a gap-crossing operation Apr. 4 on a training area here. The engineer company, part of 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, became the first fielded unit to sling load and emplace the bridge by air, according to the REB system acquisition manager, Rick Mitchell.
