Col. Belinda Spencer, acute care nurse, 18th Medical Command (Deployment Support) talks to health students at Radford High School about the different areas of the nursing field and the career path to becoming a nurse in general and in the Army 27 March. The event was held as a kick-off of a sponsorship program between Radford’s health department and 18th MEDCOM (DS) and in conjunction with Women’s History Month as three other women professionals, including the unit commander who is also an anesthetics nurse, a dental surgeon and an optometrist, also informed the students of their similar medical paths.
