Sgt. Dennis Halvorsen, an instructor with the 164th Regional Training Institute, assists 10-year-old Gabe Marx, and 11-year-old Caedmon Venderdahl, both of Bismarck, in assembling a toilet and attaching it to water pipes as a part of their Boy Scout merit badge training. Three troops of about 30 Boy Scouts from Bismarck and Fargo, N.D., traveled to Camp Grafton in Devils Lake this weekend to receive merit badge training from the soldiers of the Regional Training Institute (RTI) this weekend. Volunteer soldiers from the North Dakota National Guard's (NDNG) 164 Regional Training Institute instructed the Boy Scouts, ages 10 to 16, on matters of plumbing and household repairs.
