Grappling for the title: CLB-1 Marines hold ground fighting tournament aboard Camp Dwyer

U.S. Marine Sgt. Blake K. Parrish (yellow marker), an assault amphibious vehicle operator with Charlie Company, 3rd Assault Amphibious Battalion currently attached to Combat Logistics Battalion 1 and 22-year-old native of Indianapolis, escapes from his opponent’s hold during a ground-fighting tournament here, March 10. The tournament included four weight classes: 164 pounds and below, 165-179 pounds, 180-199 pounds and 200 pounds and above. The tournament was one of several sporting events held by CLB-1 to boost morale and encourage friendly competition between its companies during their seven-month deployment to southern Helmand province.
