Col. Stephen Van Riper, battalion inspector/instructor, 3rd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, boards a plane here to inspect his company one last time before they depart to Trondheim, Norway, March 4. Company K set out to Norway for Exercise Cold Response 12, held March 4-25. The multinational invitational exercise will focus on cold weather maritime and amphibious operations, special and ground operations, and interoperability of expeditionary forces.
