Staff Sgt. Carla Schempp and Airman 1st Class Baron Drinks, 379th Expeditionary Communications Squadron cable technicians, prepare an optical fiber line for installation at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia Feb. 18, 2012. Because the fibers are made of glass, the line is very delicate. This means that working with optical fiber requires a very delicate and precise touch to avoid breaking the line.
