Spc. Thomas Atencio surprises his sons, Teylon, 6 (left) and Thomas Jr., 5 (right) on Jan. 9, 2012, while they attended class at Cole Elementary School in Cheyenne. Atencio returned from Afghanistan on Jan. 8, 2012, from an 11-month deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom where he served with C Company, 5th Battalion, 159th Aviation Regiment (also known as Charlie Med).
