Gunnery Sgt. Jay Tansy Jr. dismisses Marine Wing Communications Squadron 28 Marines who returned from Afghanistan after marching them into the MWCS-28 barrack’s basketball courts aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point Dec. 28. Tansy deployed with the unit as the company gunnery sergeant but returned early for a warrant officer selection board. This formation will be the last Tansy will have the chance to lead and dismiss as an enlisted Marine.
