    24th Marine Expeditionary Unit

    First Lt. Michael Moore, platoon commander of 1st Platoon, Bravo Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, passes orders over the radio while his Marines post security during a raid training scenario at the Military Operations in Urban Terrain training facility aboard Camp Lejeune, Dec. 18. The Marines were inserted on Camp Lejeune from amphibious ships of Amphibious Squadron 8 positioned 3-5 miles off the coast of North Carolina with the task of assaulting an enemy position inland. The training was a culminating event as part of Composite Training Unit Exercise, a three-week exercise with 24th MEU embarked at sea to develop cohesion with PHIBRON 8 in conducting amphibious operations, crisis response, and limited contingency operations while operating from the sea.
