Lance Cpl. Kyle Carpenter, a 22 year-old Marine and wounded warrior from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, peers out of the window of a deer blind during a hunting trip. Carpenter spent the weekend at the Iron Bowl, a football game between rivals Auburn University and University of Alabama, where he was honored during the first quarter of the game. While in the area, he was also treated to a hunting trip by Capt. Lee Stuckey, executive officer of Recruiting Station Montgomery, Ala., and Joe Whatley of Shorter, Ala.
Though no deer were taken as trophies, the time away from the hospital made the trip more than worth its while, explained Carpenter.
