Third Army leaders, including Lt. Gen. Vincent K. Brooks, Third Army/ARCENT commanding general and Alexandria, Va., native, and Command Sgt. Maj, Stephen Frennier, Third Army/ARCENT senior enlisted advisor and Whitehouse, Texas, native, greet the last convoy out of Iraq, Dec. 18. The last convoy that crossed the border signaled the end of the transition of troops and equipment from Iraq as Operation New Dawn came to a close. Despite the final battalion’s departure, the U.S. will continue to build and strengthen a mutually beneficial partnership with Iraq. Third Army is shaping the future of the U.S. Central Command area of operations by honoring and meeting all agreements and deadlines with partner nations.
