Lance Cpl. Cody Goebel, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment jokes with Petty Officer 3rd Class Alexander Federov, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, after his Silver Star award ceremony, Dec. 14. Federov was the Navy Corpsman who treated Goebel after taking a bullet to the neck while on duty in Afghanistan. Goebel credits Federov, one of his good friends, for saving his life.
