Soldiers of the Covington-based 29th Division Band perform the first show of their Holiday Concert Series at the Memorial Baptist Church, Dec. 8 in Staunton, Va. During the concert, Adjutant General of Virginia Maj. Gen. Daniel E. Long Jr., presented 1st Sgt. Fred Lewis a Virginia Legion of Merit for his outstanding service as first sergeant of the 29th Division Band. Lewis will retire at the end of December. The soldiers will play at two more locations across the commonwealth to spread holiday cheer and provide the citizens of Virginia access to the soldiers serving in their communities.
