Lt. j.g. Timothy Bonham, a pilot for Detachment 4, proposes to his girlfriend outside of Hangar 103, Dec. 1. After returning from a six-month deployment, Bonham surprised his girlfriend by proposing on the flightline shortly after landing. With a bright smile on his face, Bonham, of Columbia, Mo., said he’d been waiting the entire deployment to propose. More than 20 sailors with Detachment 4 of the “Easyriders” returned after a six-month deployment aboard USS Chung Hoon. The Easyriders visited many countries, including Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines conducting Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training exercises and presence operations in the South China Sea and Maritime Domain Awareness fisheries enforcement patrols in the South Pacific. A portion of the detachment met their families at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and the rest landed in two SH-60B Seahawk helicopters at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. (Photo by YNSR Narda Duque)
