Col. Barry Huggins, commander of the 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Lancers, stationed out of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., stands with his Special Forces Assistance Team, who are currently attached to 2nd Bde., to assist the Lancers in their upcoming deployment, in front of the rock dedicated to the Lancer brigade Nov. 22. Every unit that comes through the National Training Center located at Fort Irwin is given the option to showcase their unit insignia to the world by decorating a rock from what is known as the “rock pile” with their organization’s crest.
