Sgt. Gregory Pipkins stands with his fellow Soldiers during a deployment ceremony to honor Detachment 1, Company B, Special Troops Battalion, 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team in Pendleton, Ore., June 2. Friends and family gathered to wish them well and say their goodbyes. The detachment is scheduled to deploy to Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn. They will provide aerial reconnaissance support to the ground force commanders in Iraq, operating the RQ-7 Shadow unmanned aerial vehicles.
