Afghan National Army Capt. Ehsahullah Zazi, Combined Joint Interagency Task Force 435 aide to Gen. Marjan, speaks to village elders during a release shura in the governor's compound for a former detainee at Combat Operating Post Pul'e Alem, Afghanistan, Nov. 23, 2011. The former detainee was transported from the Detention Facility in Parwan to Logar, his home province, where he was formally released back to his family and village after he confirmed his commitment to live a peaceful way of life and signed a pledge to renounce violence. Since the Afghan-led reintegration program began in 2010, more than 475 detainees have been released at community shuras in 13 provinces after a careful review board process determined their sustainability for reintegration.
