Petty Officer 3rd Class Richard M. Don, corpsman, 1st EOD Company, 7th Engineer Support Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 1, 1st Marine Logistics Group, was awarded the Bronze Star medal during an award ceremony aboard Camp Pendleton, Calif., Nov. 7. Don, from San Diego, Calif., was awarded the Bronze Star for heroic actions that took place Feb. 3, in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Don, ignoring his own injuries, rendered aid to a Marine severely injured by an improvised explosive device, ultimately saving his life.
