U.S. Army soldiers from 759th Ordnance Company, 3rd Ordnance Battalion, 71st Ordnance Group and Marines from the 1st Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company, 7th Engineer Battalion carefully ready unexploded ordnance for disposal during a joint range clearance operation at Fort Irwin, Calif., Oct. 24–27. As a result of the National Training Center training area being used as an anti-tank, rocket and tank range, from 1940–1980, a significant number of unexploded ordnances has accumulated in the training area.
